Ways to avoid, overcome belly fat

Image
Ways to avoid, overcome belly fat It is common these days to see men with bulging stomachs. The stomachs protrude in such a way that these men feel uncomfortable tucking shirts, into their trousers, as a form of dressing. Also, there are women, who are not pregnant but have a mass of stomach. The people talked about above have belly fat and experts say getting rid of it is important for more than just vanity’s sake. Belly fat is defined as an excess abdominal fat, particularly, visceral fat, which surrounds the organs and puffs stomach into a “beer gut.” It is a serious health issue to both men and women. Unfortunately, it can lead to weight gain when produced in excess, especially in the abdominal region. In many people, stress drives overeating. But instead of the excess calories being stored as fat all over the body, cortisol promotes fat storage in the belly. According to research, excess belly fat is extr...

JNI SHOULD BLAME FUNAM, MIYETTI ALLAH OVER JIHAD STATEMENT

JNI SHOULD BLAME FUNAM, MIYETTI ALLAH OVER JIHAD STATEMENT We read in some of today's national dailies, the statement credited to the headquarters of Jama'atul Nasir Islam, JNI regarding the reported comments of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on attacks in the state and we find it necessary to put the matter in its proper context. In the statement, Secretary General of JNI, Dr Abubakar Khalid Aliyu accused Governor Ortom of attributing the herdsmen attacks in the state to a continuation of the late Usman Danfodio's jihad. The statement by JNI is inappropriate and it is designed to instigate religious hatred towards the Governor. The impression being created by the organisation that Governor Ortom attacked the leadership of Nigerian Muslims in his comments is as misleading as it is a deliberate attempt to cast the Governor in bad light before Muslims in the country. In the interview under reference, Governor Ortom who was responding to a specific question, only q...

Health dangers as Fish farmers use additives and fertilisers as feeds to boost catfish production some unscrupulous fish farmers are using additives and fertilisers as feeds to boost catfish production in Nigeria, a fish farmer, Mr Phillip Ogunnaike, has revealed. Ogunnaike made the revelation in an interview in Lagos on Wednesday. He warned that the use of the chemicals might pose a serious danger to Nigerians because of the popularity of catfish in eateries nationwide, especially in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Kaduna, Warri, Uyo and other cities.  He noted that although there were some benefits of using fertilisers in fish farming, it was dangerous to use chemical-based feeds to produce fish for consumption. “The use of fertilisers to enhance the production of catfish will definitely yield better returns for local farmers. “But the kind of fertilisers some local farmers apply to fertilise the catfish is not healthy for consumers.  Acc...
